A day at the races is a fantastic choice for a stag do. You get to walk into an atmosphere where everyone’s as into having a good time as you and your mates – it’s the perfect backdrop for a stag! Remember bring your best though, no jeans or trainers are allowed. Once you’re in and you’ve had a few beers, it’s time to place your bets. Generally there’s two types of guys out there: There’s the ones who like to make the most of being trackside. They watch the weigh-ins, read their form guides like students studying for the big exam. Hours of work can go into their decisions! And then there’s the type of guys who just pick their ponies at random. And we generally find these two groups get similar results!
Soak up the excitement and head to trackside to watch your horses thunder home. If you get a few favourites coming in first, or manage to bag an outsider then you can keep your winnings to take home with you – or more likely put it into the kitty to get even more beers in later.
Get your weekend under starter’s orders and off with bang by having a flutter and some fun down the horses!
We’ll sort your ticketed entrance, the rest is up to you and by rest I mean the betting part. There are lots of different bits of advice on the internet, and we know better than to advise you on anything gambling related on our website (seriously lads, gamble responsibly!) Other than that, horse racing is fantastic fun and there are race events throughout the year in most cities so you'll certainly be spoilt for choice. It has been described as the 'sport of kings' so what are you waiting for - check out what all the fuss is about and you could be rubbing shoulders with royalty on your stag weekend.
Well it really depends on what stands you book but if you’re going to ask us then we think you and the lads should all get dressed up in your finest heritage inspired suit separates and really show that stag dos can be classy. This option will also most likely get more attention from any fine ladies attending the races too. What do we mean by heritage separates? Well think tweed and think Barbour. Think stripes and camel chinos. Think clean brogues. Think posh boy (even if you’re not posh yourself!) It’s a stag do, getting dressed up (whether it’s on costume or well… just fancy) is all part of the experience.
Situated in the county of Cheshire, Chester is a fine, cultural city which also acts as a gateway to Northern Wales. Perfect for stags who love history or the great outdoors!
