Manchester Stag do guide

Being one of the UK’s largest urban areas and it being home to two of the country’s best football teams, Manchester has long been a popular city for shopping, nights out, music, sport and more!.

It’s also one heck of a city to visit for a Manchester stag do, with plenty to keep you occupied both day and night. No longer does it have the dull, industrial city tag that blighted the town decades ago, instead Manchester is now rightly considered as bright and inviting city to those who visit. There are many places to eat, things to do and of course, a nightlife scene that spans over many different areas of the city or ‘quarters’ as they’re known as. Each offering something different, you’ll never be feeling out of place in Manchester. Complete with its pocket-pleasing Northern prices, the city becomes a hotspot for a weekend away.

Looking for  Great if you are looking for

  • Football, football and more football
  • Varied nightlife with different ‘quarters’ to explore
  • Bubble football, Play with a Legend, binocular football, and match day tickets

Getting around  Getting around

Getting around Manchester is easier than some cities, mainly due to the city’s tram network. You can also get around the city centre on the city’s free Metro shuttle buses, route one starts from Manchester Piccadilly, so if you travel to Manchester by train you can jump on the free bus straight from the station. As with most cities, taxis are probably your best means of getting around on your night out, although most public transport services do run late.

Tips and ideas  Tips and ideas

For a quirky place to have a drink, The Temple is a tiny bar that used to be a converted underground public toilet. Go early though if you want to hit this bar up during the weekends: it can get very busy and very crowded. Of course as we‘ve touched on football in this guide: football reigns supreme in the North West and whether you head to the Theatre of Dreams: Old Trafford, or where the Blue Moon has risen: The Etihad. You can even get ticket packages right from us!

A tad hungry? Fancy stepping into a completely new culture? Not problem! Because following suit behind the other great cities of the world, Manchester has its own impressive Chinatown – the perfect place for a low-priced Chinese feast at pretty much anytime in the day! There’s also the famous Curry Mile which is just outside the city centre. Here you’ll find the largest concentration of Indian food, including Pakistani, Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi with more than 70 restaurants in one area you’ll be overwhelmed by the choices and the neon lights.

Nightlife  Nightlife

Spanning over different quarters each with their own vibe, there is the commercial party area in the Printworks or for a rough and ready approach to after-dark delights, head on up to the Northern Quarter. Whatever you want, the lovable Mancs have got it! For example, Tiger Tiger is definitely one for those who want to dance and enjoy lots of different music styles (they have multiple dance rooms!) If you’re happy enough to just find a corner in a bar and have a cracking time with your mates, then you should head to Ark on Whitworth Street West. If you’re one for intimate, lounge clubs then Sugar Buddha, on Deansgate Lock, is one of Manchester’s best. Complete with a well-stocked bar, shisha and an extensive cocktail menu you will be spoilt for choice and buzzing from the atmosphere and décor.
