Bath boasts 'vibrant and cosmopolitan atmosphere'

For some prospective grooms, a stag weekend away may just not be the same without the continental feel associated with some of Europe's biggest cities.

However, with finances likely to be limited this year, those out to celebrate their final night of freedom in style might scrap plans for a dream trip to Prague or Barcelona in favour of a short stay in Bath.

According to Bath Tourism Plus, the city, which lies in the south-west of England, has just as many delights as its European counterparts - minus the stress of queuing at the airport and the expense of the euro.

Indeed, Bath boasts a range of stunning architecture and cultural heritage sites, as well as plenty of modern bars and restaurants that will ensure any stag night goes with a bang.

With such a "vibrant and cosmopolitan atmosphere", visitors might find that continental feeling right on their own doorstep, at a fraction of the cost of a European break.

Bath will no doubt come under the spotlight later this summer when former Manchester United footballer Eric Cantona visits the city to promote his new film, Looking for Eric.
