Eastern Europe 'offers good value'

Stag parties looking for good value destinations could find eastern Europe an excellent place to visit.

According to online travel agent Lastminute.com, people from the UK are increasingly looking to visit the places which offer the best value for money.

Therefore, it has highlighted countries such as Bulgaria as options for Britons who want to make their pounds go further while overseas.

The eastern European nation was described as a "budget-friendly" option for holidaymakers for the UK, as the pound remains strong against its currency.

Andy Washington, travel sales director at Lastminute.com, said: "We are seeing some interesting changes in consumer habits as the economic downturn hits the UK."

He added that while people are determined to keep travelling abroad, they are keen to make sure they do not break the bank in doing so.

Meanwhile, Sarah Miller of Conde Nast Traveller has told BBC News that coastal resorts in Bulgaria are set to be especially popular with Britons this year.
