Stag night revellers planning a UK weekend away this year should look no further than Bath as the ideal destination to celebrate their final night of freedom, according to tourism officials.

Bath Tourism Plus claims the city offers visitors a taste of luxury without breaking the bank, with interest from holidaymakers expected to soar as the British summer begins to hot up.

While those planning a more chilled out stag do can make the most of affordable spa sessions and explore Bath's great architecture, the city still offers plenty in terms of nightlife.

Revellers can kick off their evening at a variety of comedy and cabaret clubs, while those planning to make a night of it will find plenty of places to party.

One particular place of note includes the stylish Sub 13 bar, which offers a vast array of cocktails, as well as top champagnes, spirits and plenty of beer on tap.

Stag parties can also choose from a range of nightclubs including student favourite Po-na-nas and live music venue Moles Club, which has previously played host to The Killers, Snow Patrol and Damien Rice.
