Stag night revellers continue to splash the cash

According to research by Halifax Current Accounts, people across the UK spend up to £624.10 to attend the wedding of a friend or loved one.

Stag dos and hen parties account for a large chunk of the costs, with the average Brit splashing out as much as £258.50 to celebrate the bride or groom's final night of freedom overseas.

While those who confined their stag party plans to the UK spent significantly less at an average of £92.80, the study also revealed a growing trend for "adventurous stags" who opt for costly activity weekends to celebrate their impending nuptials.

Indeed, according to Matthew Champion of Travelbite.co.uk, an action-packed weekend in UK destinations like the British Beacons could be ideal for stag parties seeking a thrill or two.

With activities ranging from white water rafting and clay pigeon shooting to rope courses and mountain climbing, there is sure to be plenty to keep revellers entertained.
