Germany’s famous annual beer festival, Oktoberfest, is to be smoke-free as a smoking ban in Bavaria will be imposed from August 1st.
Brits often choose to coincide their stag do in Germany with Oktoberfest, which embraces beer drinking like nothing else on earth.
However, the lack of smokers will he a change to the usual atmosphere this year after voters supported a total smoking ban in Bavaria for restaurants, bars, cafes and beer tents. The referendum saw a low voter turn out of 37.7%, but 61% of those voting favoured a complete ban on smoking.
