Switzerland ‘offers adventure’

Switzerland Tourism has highlighted the longstanding tradition for Brits to visit the country for ski and adventure holidays – something that may interest stag parties.

UK travellers introduced winter sports to the European destination in 1864 in Saint Moritz, explained spokeswoman Julie Melet.

She said popular resorts include those in the Lake Geneva region, the Valais, Graubuenden and Bernese Oberland.

"Activities for non-skiers are varied: snowshoeing, tobogganing, sledging, horse sleigh rides, dog sledding, hot air ballooning, paragliding, winter hiking trails et cetera," Ms Melet stated.

She added there are also relaxing activities like hot springs – a possible idea for recovering after overexerting yourself at a stag party.

The comments come following an announcement from Swiss International Air Lines stating it is set to restore its Manchester to Geneva route.

It is targeted at skiing enthusiasts in the north-west and allows stag parties to access resorts such as Morzine, Megeve, Chatel and Chamonix.ADNFCR-2122-ID-19371195-ADNFCR
