However, those looking for a real bargain break might consider Bulgaria’s Sunny Beach resort, where ten holiday items, including drinks and meals, can be picked up for just over £40, according to the Holiday Costs Barometer.

Turkey might not be the most obvious of stag do destinations, but its range of attractive hotels and top value for money could be enough to lure British revellers.

Nigel Harris, chief executive at Artemis Travel, said the country has previously been seen as a "last minute choice" with poor-quality accommodation by UK holidaymakers.
