"I wouldn't arf give that Juliet my wooden horse of Troy!" - Stratford is found in the West Midlands in South Warwickshire, on the River Avon, hence, "Stratford-on-Avon". Clever eh? Not a particularly renowned stag venue but some seriously good times have been had at this unassuming venue. It is however a huge tourist attraction with plenty of street entertainment. So then Romeo, practise your favourite poem, as it's time to charm the panties off that slapper Juliet!! (poems that start "there was a young man from...", don't chuffing count by the way!)
Stratford's Famous For
William Shakespeare (playwright and bard of Avon), Royal Shakespeare Company (obviously), Anne Hathaway's Cottage (the house of Shakespeare's bit of crumpet), anything to do with Shakespeare, Gordon Ramsey went to school here, so did Ben Elton.
Stratford Travel Info
Take the M40 from Birmingham and take J15, that will deliver you to your stag destination. There are excellent train connections from London's Marylebone Station.
Stratford Stag Ideas
If Stratford's history and Shakespearian attitude is not your bag, then the River Avon provides a perfect mode of transport for a traditional pub crawl. Cruise down the river stopping off to sample the local brews is a popular option. There are more beer gardens here than Shakespeare had typos. Off course the usual array of stag outdoor activities are available here as well.
Stratford Nightlife
At night, Stratford comes alive like Frankenstein's monster but twice as electric. Restaurants and bars in spectacular settings are found all over while the local totty eagerly await the growing herds of stags that stampede through here. The local colleges and universities provide Stratford-upon-Avon with plenty of snake hungry Cleopatra's. It really should be Stratford Haven!!
