If you and the boys have a head for heights, (or if you do and the others don’t) then why don’t you get a session of abseiling booked in for your stag weekend away? It’s a thrilling and adrenaline packed activity that will truly sort out the boys from the men! You’ll visit a top venue where you’ll be provided with full safety gear and will be instructed by a well experienced and fully qualified instructor, who will give you and your group of stags and a thorough safety briefing, in addition to showing you the best techniques for lowering yourself down a cliff or similar. Even if you know that the stag is a bit of a wuss and will freak out when he discovers what you have in store for him, there’ll be a great sense of achievement once he’s completed this activity and will be entitled to full bragging rights on social media and back home.
Abseiling or Rappelling (as it’s also known as) is not actually a sport but more of a technique used by climbers to descend using a fixed rope. The reason it’s a stag do favourite is because it’s so much fun, not to mention pant wetting, nail biting and bloody dangerous. Abseiling requires specialised equipment and gear to ensure safety and minimise risk. These will be provided by the venue and they include ropes, descenders, carabiners, climbing helmet, gloves, knee and elbow pads etc.*

Wear shoes with good grip. If you have rock climbing shoes then wear those, if not then some trainers you don't mind getting scruffy will do. Clothing should be lose fitting and comfortable, but not flapping about. Don't wear anything valuable like expensive watches or chains for this activity.
Oh my god this rocks! I don't even like heights but once you take the plunge, not physically but mentally, and you're dangling 30 foot in the air with only a rope as your friend it certainly puts the wind up you. It was so scary I loved it and just wanted to do it again and again... like a human yoyo. - John (Stag Company customer feedback call)
