Tenerife Stag Do's

Tenerife enjoys a sunny and warm climate, averaging around 16°C in winter, and 30°C in summer, so if you’re there at the height of peak season, stay hydrated and stick to the shade in the midday sun. No-one wants to conk out with sunstroke on the biggest weekend of the year. 

Our top-rated stag do activities in Tenerife naturally revolve around the beach and the sea, as you’d probably expect in this Canary Island paradise. Watersports are a huge deal here - El Medano along the coast from Playa de las Americas is renowned for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Our own Watersports Package goes a little more extreme, featuring jetskiing and flyboarding. 

Another classic Tenerife stag experience is the Party Boat Cruise, and you will not be disappointed with one of the island’s most popular booze cruises from Porto Colon, with onboard DJs, a free bar for the first hour, and a swim stop halfway through. A great way to meet people before the night really starts.

If the heat gets a bit too much for you, then why not cool down with a trip to the awesome Siam Water Park? Stuffed with waterslides of all kinds, including the jaw-dropping Tower of Power, where you’ll plunge down an almost vertical 29 metre drop, and even a slide through an aquarium! There’s also a great lazy river in which you can float around all day, and  an imitation beach where you can relax or catch some waves in the massive pool which has regular tidal wave sessions.

Some stag do’s in Tenerife are looking for something more refined, so consider spending a day at one of the island’s premier Beach Clubs such as Kaluna or Papagayo, where you can chill to Balearic beats with handcrafted cocktails in your private cabanas, watching the sun go down, or the gorgeous women around the pool. 

Other popular stag activities in Tenerife include whale-watching boat trips, and hiking up the volcanic Mount Teide. You’ll literally have your head above the clouds as you make your way up this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take in the breathtaking views via a bus tour, or rent a car and drive up the winding roads. You can then take a cable car right up to the top (some 3,718 metres up). This is perfect for a bit of male bonding but most probably one to avoid if you’re hanging from the night before.

As for beaches, there are plenty to choose from; Tenerife spent a lot of money transforming its rocky coastline into a sandy paradise for locals and tourists alike, so catching some rays during your stag do is an appealing prospect. We suggest checking out Troya beach in Playa de las Américas, which is ideal for groups of lads. Here, you’ll find golden sands and turquoise waters, and there’s loads of sunbeds available in addition to a great variety of water sports. The promenade is also packed with copious amounts of bars and places to eat, so you won’t be too far from a tasty snack. Do bear in mind that this particular beach gets packed pretty quickly, so it makes sense to head down as early as you can.

Food-wise, this being an island you’re never far from a seafood feast, and it’s always fresh off the boat. And while you’ll get all your favourite fast foods to soak up the booze after a night out along Veronica’s, we’d definitely recommend hitting up one of Tenerife’s many traditional Spanish restaurants at least once, to sample the local cuisine.
