The street is pedestrianised which means you can start from one end and stumble from pub to pub quite happily. You can also find some cracking night spots on the High Street which is part of the Royal mile that runs from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace. Expect to find some old fashioned Scottish pubs serving some excellent ale on this stretch. There are also other drink locations from Grassmarket, the Cowgate and Cockburn where you can find a tipple or two to quench the thirst of you and your stag party.
