What other sport in the world will have you shouting words like 'bogey', 'birdie' and 'eagle'? You guessed it, golf. For those of you who play you'll know first hand that it can be the most rewarding and then in an instant the most frustrating sport ever.

In the wrong hands golf can consume grown men and spit them out crying like babies; it does become an obsession and has been known to split up relationships. However, setting all that aside it is a great stag party activity, particularly for those wanting something a little more relaxing.

If you've never played before then why not catch the golf bug and learn over the stag weekend, turn it into an obsession when you get home, and then see how quickly your girlfriend becomes jealous of the amount of time you spend hitting a ball with a club.

Why else would you get dressed in a smart pair of trousers, newly polished shoes and a collared shirt, only to walk around a park? Think about it...

Does Golfing Work As A Stag Activity?

It's a fair question, considering you may have a group of 15 lads, but realistically you can have any number of players playing golf. It's also a great activity for all ages, unlike some activities we offer, so you don't have to worry about older members of the group joining in, such as the father of the bride.

Portugal is such a popular destination for Brits going to play golf, so it shouldn't come as any surprise that it's one of the top selling activities on an Albufeira stag do. The Algarve will deliver the warm weather that the group can enjoy, with some great pics in the sun while everyone back home is stuck in the rain.

Do I Have To Go Abroad?

Absolutely not, you could head for a stag do in Nottingham and try out the 18 hole golf course, which should take your group around 4 hours to complete, depending on how many players there are. 

Of course, abroad offers the sun, but staying in the UK means you don't have to spend half the day in airports and flying, while there are some brilliant golf courses available right on our doorstep. If you head off on a Liverpool stag weekend then you will find an indoor golf simulation experience, a great alternative twist that also allows the group to drink during the activity and also not be miles away in the countryside at the end when everyone wants to hit the bars.
