Budapest stag do guide

  • Pint Average pint cost: £1.11
  • Pint Weekend from: £87

Complete with castles, thermal baths, and the majestic Danube River, Budapest (pronunced "boo-dah-pesht") is right up there with the most stunning capitals in Europe.

Just as importantly, a pint costs a fraction of what you’re used to – so it’s going to be high on your list of stag do ideas. Plus we consider it to be one of the most welcoming cities in Europe, unfurling the red carpet for its visitors and offering everything from wild nights out to bobsleighing, gun-firing and mud-wrestling with some super-hot topless women!

City image

Great if you are looking for

  • Youthful and unique bar and club culture
  • Sobering up in style in grand cafes and thermal baths
  • Topless mud wrestling, quad biking, stripper river cruises and beer bikes

Car Getting around

The city is actually quite big so at some point you are going to have to use some public transport. There’s a metro, tram and bus service which are well connected and easy to understand. However, the system isn’t as reliable as some other EU cities – so keep that in mind.  We recommend investing in a public transportation map which you can buy at any BKV ticket sales desk. Taxis can be dodgy, so avoid them whenever possible but if you are going to get a taxi, then make sure you get a registered one (or better yet call one yourself) and always agree on a price before getting in. Saying that though, we offer transfers to most of our activities and they are reliable, safe, and speak English. So if you’re going to book any form of transportation then make sure you speak to one of our party planners!

Tips Tips and ideas

If you fancy something quintessentially Hungarian, head for a Borozo (Hungarian wine pub) which offer tasty, wallet-friendly Hungarian wines on tap – especially if you venture off from the main city square tourist traps. Bulls Blood is a must-try but you should also sample the Hungarian spirit Palinka which is a fruit-based spirit that will certainly get your night started in sensational style. Especially in one of the city’s café terraces, beer gardens or Ruin Pubs which are the spots where locals relax with a hard-earned bevvy.

If drinking more doesn’t sound appealing right now then, may be a relaxing session at a steam room and spa will? It’s long been a Budapest tradition so unwind and relax in the thermal spas. Inside you’ll have the chance to stow away your clothes and you’ll get the chance to soak away your aches and relax with your mates whilst you have a chilled catch up about the night before and a chance to breathe in the soothing thermal steam. If you book this activity through us, you’ll get to enjoy 3 hours of this bliss and also receive private transfers to and from the baths.

Nightlife Nightlife

Budapest nightlife is one of the cheapest and best in the EU (well we certainly think so!) It’s got babes, cheap booze and plenty of different watering holes for you to sample and experience. Our most popular nightlife offering is a guided bar crawl. We’ve got lots of different types – so just as when you book with one of our party planners! Some of them even include entry into strip clubs and night clubs as well! All the guides are friendly and knowledgeable and to ensure that everything runs smoothly we will give you a meeting point and an emergency number (just in case!) if you want to watch something really fun and a little bit different, then you’ll be pleased to know that we offer topless female mud wrestling in Budapest which is… well exactly what it says on the tin.

Alex’s top tip for organising a killer stag do

Alex’s top tip for organising a killer stag do

Don't forget your phone charger and a Camera/GoPro - document your weekend away especially during the awesome activities you'll choose.

Why Budapest?

The answer is simple – Value for money. It’s one of the cheapest destinations we offer and it gives a range of unique activities you can’t do anywhere else. You can also find pretty low priced flights. It’s also the best destination for groups. Budapest also has really cheap beer, starting at £1.10, good traditional food and an overall awesome vibe.

Top activities

Budapest offers some pretty awesome activities and the best thing is that a lot of them are only available here. I would suggest the beer bike experience. You and your group will be doing some sightseeing by pedalling on a group bike and drinking at the same time.

If you are looking to prank the stag, the stitch up experience is the way to go. This will involve a fake arrest made by a Hungarian policeman, who will handcuff the groom-to-be for something “he did wrong” (this is the stitch up). He will be told that they are taking him to the police station, and cover his head with a sack so he doesn’t see what’s going on. The final destination? A strip club where the you (the group) will wait for him in stitches of laughter and he will get a lap dance.

Places to visit

The chain bridge which is an iconic bridge and it joins the Buda and the Pest sides of the city, which is the old and the new parts. Everyone does it so you definitely don’t want to miss it whilst you’re there.

The Buda Castle is a must see for those stags who want to get a cultural gain from their weekend away. How did kings live in Hungary? You will find out by visiting it.

When you think of Budapest, what do you think of?

The Thermal Pools, of course. The Lukacs baths are heated naturally by hot springs and are the biggest in Hungary. They are situated in the city centre and they are a must try for newcomers to the city.

The ruin bars are also unique to the city and I highly recommend them.

Booked a Budapest stag with them. It was so easy to book, get everything we wanted sorted and all questions answered. All information was passed between UK and Hungary perfectly, so everything was in place when we got there. So much fun, highly recommended....
