You will all get a go at the running stones on the ice, with a number of games setup for the group by the English speaking guide, who will walk you all through the whole process before you find out who's the champion.
This is certainly a unique activity and experience that you can try which will give a good story for when you get home, a far cry from the traditional paintballing or go-karting.
You will slide the stone towards the big target and it will glide across the ice, hopefully slowing down at the precise point you're targeting. You will have a number of practice shots before taking it all more seriously, to perfect your form and gain tips from the guide.
The guide will walk you through all the rules and regulations before you can have plenty of fun on the ice. They will walk you through the different shot types, such as a peel, freeze, guard or draw.
Firstly, congratulations! This is a hard game, so if you're leading then you've done something right. You then want to defend your lead and ensure they don't catch-up and overtake, so you will have to be more tactical. You will want to aim some takeout shots, to knock them out of position, rather than trying to score.
You will get a 20 minute training session, where an instructor will walk you through how to run up, take a shot and score points. Once everyone has got the hang of it, you will have 40 minutes for actual gameplay, which will feel like it's breezing by once the competitiveness kicks in!
You're allowed up to ten players on a track. That doesn't mean the 16 of you can't all play, we will arrange for two tracks if you have more than ten people, then you can split the group in half. You'll be right next to each other, so the group won't really be split far apart, but it ensures people aren't waiting a long time for a go, much like bowling where you wouldn't want to be waiting for 15 lads to all have a go before you could bowl.
