This is a stag do activity not really suited to people who suffer from vertigo but for everyone else rock climbing ROCKS! It is all about you using your hands grab onto holds and using your legs to push yourself further upwards. Essentially the goal is to scramble up the rock surfaces skilfully and as creatively as you can. Rock climbing is a physically and mentally demanding sport that will test your strength and balance.
Depending on where you choose your stag weekend you will either be scaling a natural rock surface or climbing indoors on a purpose-made climbing wall. It is great fun and not for the faint hearted. Because although it can be a dangerous sport you will have all the safety precautions - primarily a helmet and a harness as well as an on-site expert to give you pointers on how best to scale the wall or rock surface. For this activity we recommend wearing clothes that allow for optimum mobility and flexibility (or bring a change of clothes.) If you have purpose built rock climbing shoes then bring them along, if you don’t, then some trainers that you don’t mind getting dirty will do just fine.
If you’re planning to do this activity in fancy dress then make sure it’s safe to use with a harness. We suggest going with the whole climbing theme and having him wear a skin-tight spider man costume. It makes for great photos and the rest of you can dress up as other super heroes or you can just be dressed normally and laugh at the stag as he gets stuck on the rock climbing wall.
