Madrid Stag Do Accommodation

We have an amazing selection of stag friendly accommodation in Madrid, whether you’re looking for a low cost hostel, a luxurious hotel or an apartment to crash in.

We also try to list accommodation mainly in the city centre, so that you have a short walk to all the main attractions and activities you will want to try, however we have some bigger and more unique options a bit further out, in case this closer matches what you’re after.

We work with trusted ground agents based in location, who know Madrid like the back of their hand. They are best placed to find the most suitable accommodation for your group and work with various central apartments across the city. If you choose to add this type of accommodation to your package, you will get great rates and you can be sure that the apartments will have a fully equipped kitchenette, bathroom, TV and WiFi, towels and bed linen provided as standard.

Madrid Transport

Most of Madrid is walkable, meaning you should be able to largely avoid public transport, but we can also arrange a party bus or limo to pick you up or take you to the airport, or around town if you prefer.

While you can order a personal public transport card, this is largely pointless for a short trip like a stag weekend, therefore you should ignore any site telling you to pay for this. This pass is used for the ‘Abono’, which is their monthly pass for public transport.

Instead, you should just use the ‘Multi Card’. You need to buy the card initially, but then you can top it up for short term trips. This means you can top it up for a single ticket or for 10 trip tickets. Again, whether you get this or not really does depend on your itinerary, most of our groups don’t need this if they’re getting an airport transfer and walking to most places.

There is also the Madrid tourist travel pass, something people often get for week long holidays, as it gives you unlimited usage in Zone A for a whole week, which makes it a great option for someone trying to tick off all the tourist attractions. But let’s be serious, most of your time will be spent in bars or doing activities, therefore you may not make the most of this.

The metro will take you to the most famous spots, likie Chueca, Malasana and La Latina.

The city has Uber, Free Now as well as a good taxi system in place, making this a decent option when you have four people sharing a car, therefore it can be worth splitting into groups for the car journeys. Splitwise is a useful app to allow you to record who has spent money on taxis along the way.

Parking in Madrid

Are you tempted to hire a few cars in Madrid? Or maybe you’ve got some people who plan on driving over to the hotel. Then there are a few things you should know in advance. Firstly, the centre of Madrid is incredibly limited for parking spaces, much like most big cities, while a lot of the on-street parking is paid, therefore the costs might add up.

Considering the subway or buses will most likely be cheaper and most places are walkable, we wouldn’t really recommend driving if it can be avoided.

The best argument for renting a car would be if you plan on visiting some other towns outside of Madrid, such as heading over to Barcelona, but then it could be hired just for that time period and dropped off at the end.

There are 25 free car parks in the whole of Madrid, but they fill up quickly, while they’re not based in the centre of Madrid, with people driving to these car parks for work and then making the rest of the journey on public transport.

You’ll find these free car parking areas in Fuencarral, Las Tablas-Telefonica and Nuestra Senora del Recuerdo. But as we mentioned, there are also paid car parks and metering in the city centre if you don’t mind paying the hefty price.

You should also check whether the hotel you’re staying at has free parking options available for guests, or what they charge if it’s not free. Some hotels in Madrid do have these facilities, with a limited number of spaces, but it’s good to know beforehand if you do plan on driving around.

Types of Accommodation

The most common form of stag accommodation you’ll find in Madrid are hotels, unsurprisingly, as they tick every box, being centrally located and providing all the amenities you’ll require.

Locals would prefer it if you didn’t do house rentals, as this adds to the issues with house buying in the area, leading to protests. This is because people are buying houses purely to rent out to holiday makers, which means there are less houses available for locals. We can arrange a house for you, but they often require a 50% deposit straight away, while with the local issue, we try to recommend against this option as it often doesn’t work out the best solution.

If you’re after a hostel to save some money, then you’ll be happy to know Madrid does have some dorms available, where you can pay to have your whole group together. This is great for the bonding experience, while it’s also optimal if you just see it as somewhere to crash for the night and would rather save money. You’re not on a romantic break, you don’t need a balcony with a stunning view.

But of course, if you are after something more fancy, then do let your event planner know, as we have a number of luxurious options available if you can stretch your budget.

Some groups prefer an apartment, as this means you can all stick together and hang out in a living room watching TV while others are getting ready. These self catering accommodations in Madrid are ideal if you want kitchen facilities. You might not plan on cooking up a whole roast, but a pot and pan to make some pasta when hungover or a fry up in the morning might be a game changer.

Whether you’re after a lodge with a scenic view, a villa with a swimming pool, or a low cost hostel that’s near nightlife, it’s worth speaking to our team who are more than happy to help with your request.

Accommodation FAQ

What Is The Usual Check In / Check Out Time?

Most hotels will allow you to check out at noon midday, but each one is different and we’re happy to provide this information for you beforehand. The hotels are also normally happy to take in your bags if you’re early for check-in and want to explore. You can also arrange a late check-out with a fee if you have a later flight. The check-in time in Madrid is normally around 3pm for most hotels.

Where Is Best To Stay In Madrid?

You want to consider what you plan on doing during the day, where you’re heading to eat and then drink in the evening and where your itinerary is mainly based, as this will impact where you should stay. There are generally four key neighbourhoods which are often considered. Once you’ve picked the neighbourhood then you can lean towards a certain hotel or hostel in that area. The majority of stag groups opt for around the Malasana, which has all the main bars and nightclubs. This central location provides you with access to anything you’ll need. It’s certainly not quiet, considering the nightclubs stay open till around 6am, so you may want to be near but not right outside the nightclub as you want to be able to eventually sleep. If you want to live like a local rather than a tourist and get away from some of the crowds while still staying central, then you could try La Latina. Based in the South West part of Madrid, there are some great tapas bars you can snack in, as well as enjoying a few cervezas. While some parts of central Madrid have been modernised, La Latina has kept much of its past, with some of the restaurants and bars having been open for 100 years! A similar option but on the North East part of the city is Salamanca, providing a glimpse into local life, but with a slightly more swanky feel, while having plenty of green spaces to relax in. A low cost alternative is Barrio de Las Letras, over on the South East side of Madrid. It’s a bit further out, but provides a low cost of accommodation and has a lot of history to learn about, if you want to do some tourist sightseeing. There are still plenty of great restaurants here to eat for lunch and dinner.
