Cool Copenhagen could attract stag night revellers

Copenhagen may not leap out as the most obvious of stag weekend destinations, but the Danish capital could provide all the ingredients for a top night out.

According to VisitDenmark, the city is the ideal location for a memorable group holiday and takes just two hours to reach, with direct connections from five UK airports.

With some observers stating that Denmark's economy is based on the three B's of beer, bacon and butter, stag do revellers might find the country offers everything they need for a big night of celebration.

The waterfront district of Nyhavn is sure to prove popular, with "an abundance of bars and restaurants", a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of Danish booze on tap.

Meanwhile, the trendy Vesterbro area has evolved from a run-down red-light district to "a vibrant centre" for nightlife over the past decade or so, with classy new bars and clubs currently "popping up like mushrooms".

Indeed, according to online travel portal Lonely Planet, Copenhagen is fast becoming the coolest and most cosmopolitan city in Scandinavia, with the region's bars and cafes buzzing the whole year through.
