Dublin 'offers value for holidaymakers'

People planning stag parties in the coming months may already have had destinations such as Dublin and Prague in mind.

The cities are traditionally popular with those planning to celebrate their last weekend of freedom before getting hitched, but they may now gain even more credence with UK travellers.

According to research by Hotels.com, locations such as Prague, Dublin and Berlin are among the most popular destinations for those looking to make their pounds stretch a little further this year.

The website found that these cities represented the best value, with tourists able to book double rooms in Prague for as little as £35 per person.

Alison Couper, director of communications at Hotels.com, said opting to visit such locations could be a wise choice in a year when getting the most for your money is "more important than ever".

"We have picked out those places where travellers can get the most luxury for their travel budget," she added.

This comes after Sian Williams, UK manager for price comparison site trivago, advised holidaymakers to make sure they shop around to get the best deal when planning their trip.
