A professional footballer is looking forward to his wedding after a series of disasters threatened to derail the whole event.
Chris Todd, defender at Torquay United, was diagnosed with leukaemia last November but has bounced back to return to first-team training.
Meanwhile, his bride Gemma was devastated when a fire broke out at the bridal shop where she ordered her wedding dress.
Miraculously, the dress emerged unscathed and is ready to go for the big day next weekend.
And just to top it off, a bird flew into the windscreen of the minibus carrying Chris and his friends on his stag night, shattering it completely.
No breakdown service was available so they carried on regardless, determined to make the most of their evening.
"The stag night was awesome," Chris said.
"They dressed me up as a fairy in a cowboy hat, but we had a great time."
Chris is now hopeful that he will be on the subs bench at Saturday's FA Cup clash against Coventry City.
