People planning a stag night might already have listed Newcastle among their destinations of choice, but the city looks set for a new development that could further boost its appeal.
Restaurateur Parviz Alizadeh last month unveiled proposals to build a new floating drinking venue on the River Tyne, which could prove popular with those out to celebrate their final night of freedom in style.
Since outlining plans for the Bubble on the Tyne, Mr Alizadeh has received interest from a number of investors keen to help make his £4-million dream a reality, reports the Journal Live.
The venue, which would be created in the shape of a bubble and includes plans for a glass roof, would offer conferencing and educational facilities during the day before becoming a high-brow bar and bistro in the evenings.
Mr Alizadeh told the newspaper that the proposals could help put the north-east on the map, resulting in an increase in tourism numbers and boosting the local economy.
Tourism officials across much of England are already expecting a higher number of visitors this year, with many Brits expected to holiday closer to home due to the weakness of the pound against the euro.
